Oven Baked Vietnamese Pork Meatballs

Vietnamese pork meatballs are crafted with a handful of ingredients, among which fish sauce is crucial. This key ingredient is essential for creating meatballs packed with umami and rich flavors.


In Hanoi, Vietnam, Vietnamese pork meatballs are a ubiquitous sight. These meatballs are traditionally grilled over charcoal fires, making them a popular street food. Typically, they are served with vermicelli noodles, fresh herbs, and vegetables in a dish known as Bun Cha.



Ingredients

Serves 4

  • 1 lb ground pork

  • 2 tablespoon graded ginger

  • 1 tablespoon grated garlic

  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce

  • 1/2 cup panko

  • Salt and pepper for taste

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 425F degrees. Place parchment paper on a rimmed baking sheet.

  • Mix all the ingredients and make 12 meatballs. Place them on the prepared rimmed baking sheet.

  • Bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 15 minutes.

  • Serve warm, with rice or noodles.
