"Hummus is easy to make mom" my 19 years old daughter said to me. But I wasn't sure I believed her.
Well, she was right, it was easy to make. All you have to do is put everything into a food processor. It only takes five minutes, and the flavor is super.
This hummus is great with Fiona's homemade pita bread!
Ingredients
1 15-ounce can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup tahini
1/2 cup olive oil
1 garlic clove
water (or can use aquafava from a can of chickpeas, if you prefer)
1/4 cup leon juice
salt to taste
Direction
In a food processor, combine tahini and lemon juice and process for 1 minute, scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl and process for another 1 minute.
Add the olive oil, garlic, and salt, process 1 more minute.
Add half of the chickpeas, process another 1 minute, then scrape the sides and the bottom of the bowl, add the remaining chickpeas and process until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Add water (or aquafava if you prefer) to adjust to your preferred consistency.
Serve with a drizzle of olive oil, a dash of paprika, and cilantro
