About Fiona

Who is Fiona

Fiona kept telling me she wanted to know my kids better, of course she knew them, but her purpose was to get to know each from the heart, not just as a grandmother, but as a friend, as a person.

And it wasn't only my kids. Fiona was always curious about people. She would ask for your stories really enjoyed hearing about you.

Fiona was the oldest of four sisters. And she was the most daring one of all, the one who loved adventure. She traveled every year until the pandemic hit - to see her sister and family in Europe, to see her oldest son at his home, often driving for hours by herself, and in her last year of life, she even drove six hours alone across Colorado (at age 88!), to Moab Utah to see her youngest son after his canoe trip.

In her time in Colorado (her last year of life) Fiona hiked up to three miles almost daily, with her middle son, even to within three weeks of being diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Fiona loved challenging herself. Even in the last days of her life she pushed herself to show her dignity.

Fiona was an amazing, strong woman who never gave up!
